It’s a bit crowded as many people are just posing for the Instagram picture. To avoid to pay the 25k fee look for the free parking sign and once you parked someone will call you to buy a ticket. Just say you are just to have a drink or lunch and not interested to enter the rice fields. You can walk a lot without paying any fee. You can get your instagram moment but I would recommend actually climbing down and crossing a small stream and get to the rice fields on the other side. Wear good shoes! The climb to the paddies can be slippery at times and some of the sections are very muddy so consider your footwear when planning your walk. It’s about 20 - 30 minute drive from Ubud and you don’t need to spend too much time here. There are some spots for you to take nice pictures but there is an extra charge for each spot.
